Here in Australia exists a special custom towards house tenants,
completely strange for us Swiss: Every 6 months, the real estate agent
turns up to check the rented house/flat/unit and the first inspection
after move-in usually takes place after a month. So we have received a
long list of what has to be done to present the house properly and to
obtain a favourable report by the agent - they seem to ask for a general
renovation ;-) . Vacuum everything and eventually professional cleaning
(incl. curtains!!!), all inbuilt surfaces flashy cleaned and stuff
removed (!) etc. etc. Due to the fact that since our move-in, we have
neither received a working dishwasher nor a repair of the broken
curtain-systems, I decided to have all done by a little vacuum-cleaning
and it was absolutely sufficient.
