festival in Canberra (http://www.floriadeaustralia.com/). First, we had
planned to participate in the Family Fun Run, but we had realized to
late that a subscription was required (35$). But why pay, if we can do
the same without a crowd on a nicer track for free!?
Floriade is a nice festival - I imagine that Grün 80 must have been like
that. Adi and Oli first had a run on the castle playground in the back
part of Commonwealth Park. Then, we passed at the Australia Fair Street
Organ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_organ). What a delightful
music instrument!!! The Australia Fair plays it's books automatically -
a beautiful repertoire. Adi wanted to see the book changing over and
over again.
The highlight of the day for Adi and Oli must have been the farm
animals' patting paddock. Oli just loves any animal. Adi was fascinated
by the sheep's thick wool where he would dig his fingers in. He was also
very proud when he was allowed to hold a small chicken and a little
duckling. And when a supervisor asked him, if he wanted to bottlefeed
the little lamb, he didn't hesitate for a second.
Of course, we also watched the flower settings and the
sandcastle-builders. Finally, we had eaten Nachos while enjoying a
Romanian dance performance.
